300 years of history at the Shigemasu brewery
Each tile of the tiled roof shows the time they spent.
The kura tells you the story of the brewery's history as a sake brewery.
In the brewery, men who are inspired by sake and sake brewing use all their passion and skill to brew excellent sake.
The history of Shigemasu brewery begins when the founder Rokuroemon Takahashi opened a sake brewery in Yame, a rice-producing region.
Since then, the company has undergone various changes, including the foundation laid by Takekichi IX and the reorganisation into a company structure by Shigetaro X. We are now in our nineteenth generation.
We continue to make daily efforts to preserve and further develop the inherited techniques and to produce sake that is highly regarded by everyone.
